Well, it's that time of year again, sniffles for humans and itchy scratchies for dogs and cats. Yep, Mountain Cedar has officially come upon us, and with it lots of skin problems for our pets. Dogs and cats, unlike us, present with allergies in a very peculiar way: they scratch! Head shaking, licking of the feet, rubbing the face, and scratching are the usual signs that your pooch or kitty may be struggling with atopy, or allergies. Mountain cedar, which lasts from December through March, is only one of many pollens that affect our furry friends adversely. Other examples include Oak, Ragweed, and numerous other grasses, weeds, and trees. If your friend has any of these symptoms, we can help. Just call our office and we'd be happy to relieve the itch!
