Dr. Serafine was born in Southern California and had a love for animals from a very early age. Seeing news coverage of horses burned from wildfires are what sparked her passion to become a veterinarian. She attended undergrad at California State University, Fresno where she was a member of the Women’s Equestrian Team. After an internship at the 6666’s Ranch in Texas, she attended veterinary school at Ross University, School of Vet Med in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical year at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (her grandfather’s alma mater) and started practicing at a mixed animal clinic in rural Texas. A few years into practice, she met the man who would become her husband and moved to South Texas. The two would take trips to the Hill Country and after a few more years of battling the South Texas heat, they finally moved to the Spring Branch area. Dr. Serafine and her husband have 3 dogs; Blue, Trip and Whiskey. For fun, they enjoy going to whiskey and wine tastings, target shooting with bows and guns, cooking and gardening. At work, Dr. Serafine especially enjoys bladder stone removal surgeries and dental procedures.
